Description
Abstract: Neutron stars are poised to play a central role in the emerging field of multi-messenger astrophysics, serving as powerful transient sources of electromagnetic, neutrino, and gravitational-wave signals. The interpretation of these diverse observations requires a concerted effort that integrates computational astrophysics, data analysis, and theoretical modeling to describe hot and ultra-dense matter.
In this presentation, I will discuss recent progress in constraining the equation of state and transport properties of matter under extreme conditions relevant to neutron stars. I will emphasize how multi-messenger observations, when combined with advances in nuclear theory and numerical simulations, can provide stringent tests of dense matter physics and discuss the prospects for using neutron stars as laboratories for nuclear and particle physics.
