Description
Title: Actions and S-matrices
Abstract: The S-matrix in Minkowski spacetime may be formulated in terms of a path integral with asymptotic boundary conditions. I will discuss the usefulness of this approach in various contexts, including asymptotic symmetries and their relation to soft theorems, the Carrollian approach to flat space holography, and the extraction of the S-matrix from the flat limit of AdS/CFT.
Bio: PhD Princeton 1995. Postdoc: Caltech 1995-1998, Univ of Chicago 1998-2000, Professor at UCLA 2000-present.
